“ Culture breathes texture and iden- tity into the life of any community, and it is as necessary to us as any road or building. Its growth in the Northwest suburbs is a natural and wondrous part of our evolution. We all owe thanks to the visionaries who nurture it.”

In a world defined by the daily performance of the stock ticker, the role of the arts takes on added significance. For balance, for beauty, for our proximity to the nation’s second largest urban center, Harper is proud to unveil a stunning new Performing Arts Center. Thanks to strong community support and generous donations to the Harper College Educational Foundation, the Northwest suburbs now have a facility worthy of the cultural beauty it cultivates. Gone are the days of rehearsing in basements and hallways. In dramatic fashion, Harper raises the curtain on programs poised to inspire future performers and enrich lives. Broadway has never been closer to Algonquin and Roselle roads.

“ I was given a lot of performance opportunities at Harper. Playing in the new Performing Arts Center was a huge thrill. Those experiences helped me win a full music scholarship to the University of Illinois.”
