- The NetPrep dual credit program
allows you to earn high school and college credit while a
junior or senior in high school. The NetPrep program dual
credit courses cover the same topics as the first four
courses of the college program and allow you
to:
- Earn up to 12 hours of college credit
while also satisfying high school credit requirements
- Transfer almost a full semester of
college-level course work to Harper College, where you
will be able to begin the last four of the core courses
to achieve the Senior Network Technology
certificate
- Earn the NACSE Student Network
Technician certificate signifying your readiness for
immediate employment
- Experience state-of-the-art
curriculum and computer labs developed and supported by
industry-leader 3COM and Harper College
- Earn college credit, but pay no
college tuition or book fees while in high
school.
- As a dual credit program, courses are
open to high school students from Districts 211, 214 and
220. Students receive both high school credit and Harper
College credit. The high school district pays tuition and
fees for all courses. Students must enroll through the
Shared Course Coordinator at their school. Books are
supplied by the school districts for many of the courses.

Will I graduate high school on time?
- A:
Yes. If all courses are completed successfully, you
will not have to take extra courses to earn high school
credit. For each NetPrep course you take, you
simultaneously earn high school credit and three college
credit hours.

Are classes held at my high school? Do I need my own
transportation?
- A:
No. In order to take advantage of on state-of-the-art
equipment, the courses are held on the main Harper
College campus in Palatine. The courses are usually held
in the late afternoon, after you finish regular classes
at your high school. Transportation will be arranged for
you by your high school.

Do I have to pay?
- A:
No. The course tuition, fees and books will be paid for
by the high school.

If I pass all four dual credit courses, how many college
hours will I have earned?
- A:
Each of the four courses earns the student three college
credits, for a total of 12 credit hours. That equates to
almost a full college semester earned before you graduate
high school.

Will these courses transfer to other colleges or
universities?
- A:
These courses will transfer seamlessly to Harper College.
Because this is a new program, transfer agreements are
currently being explored.

Can I show NetPrep program college-level courses on my
applications to other colleges and
universities?

Yes. These courses will be noted on your transcript.
Please note that the application process is different for
each college and university.

now?

No. You may enroll in each course during the registration
process at your high school.
