CAS 260: Office Application Development

Course Description

Provides students with an opportunity to build productivity applications using a currently popular applications suite and macro language. Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database features are included, with a focus on integrating applications and automating everyday tasks.  Recommended preparation: CAS 160 and CIS 101 or equivalent experience.

Required Materials

  • Mastering VBA for Microsoft Office 2007 by Richard Mansfield – Sybex –
    ISBN 978-0-470-27959-5 
  • Internet access and a Harper Blackboard account configured with your current email address.
  • Access to a computer running a licensed or trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional or Office 2003 Professional as a complete installation including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Office VBA.  Harper lab I 205 has computers and software that may be configured as necessary for this course.

Course Format
