This recommended transfer program for music education students meets the
requirements for an associate in fine artsmusic degree and the recommendation
of the Illinois Articulation music education panel. Students should check
individual school requirements before completing the curriculum as outlined.
Admission into baccalaureate music education programs is competitive; completion
of these courses alone does not guarantee admission.

- Completion of the associate in fine arts degree does not fulfill
the requirements of the Illinois General Education Core Curriculum.
After transfer, associate in fine artsmusic students will need
to complete the general education requirements of the institution
to which they transfer.

catalog.
- Approved courses are listed with the requirements in the associate
in fine artsmusic degree. Recommended: Non-Western or Third
World cultures course such as HUM 103, LIT 208, PHI 160, PHI 205.
- Recommended PSC 101 or HST 111 or HST 112.
- All Music majors must demonstrate piano proficiency; MUS 165, MUS
166 and MUS 265 may be passed by proficiency exam. Music majors are
also advised to take MUS 100 as part of their elective credit.
- To be selected from MUS 180 through MUS 199 and MUS 280 through
MUS 299.
