Fall 2005 LC Conference -- hosted by Harper

Theme: Growing Citizenship in Community: It Takes an Engaged Village

Presentations are invited from all members of the campus community, including faculty, librarians, counselors, advisors, students, student mentors and administrators. We seek proposals that share best practices, initiatives and programs highlighting Learning Communities and how they promote student learning and campus collaboration. Presentation formats fostering audience involvement are strongly encouraged. The program tracks shown below are intentionally broad to provide an opportunity to invite a wide variety of discussions.

  • How to Teach a Common Set of Civic Values in a Diverse Learning Community

  • How to Create Linkages Between Learning Communities

  • Appreciating the Social Contributions and Life experiences of the Various Students in a Learning Community

  • The effects of Human Rights Education on Learning Communities

  • Building the Capacity for Democratic Social Change Through Learning Communities

Information & Registration:
Registration for this LC Conference (10th Annual National LC Conference) will start May 8, 2005 and extend through October 1, 2005 for the discounted conference fee of $275.00. After October 1, 2005, the Conference Registration Fee will be $325.00.
