Ben Dallas
is a Chicago artist who received his undergraduate degree in art
history from Indiana University in
1969 and a master’s degree in art history from the University
of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana, in 1971.
Dallas has participated
in many solo and group exhibitions
locally and internationally, including one person exhibitions in Seattle,
Wash. and Portland, Ore., in 2002; the Gallerie im Saalbau in Berlin
in 2001; and
the Chicago Cultural Center in 1998. Until 2001, he was a professor
of art at Harper
College in Palatine, Ill. |
He
was awarded artist fellowships in 2002, 2001, 1998 and 1995 from
the Illinois Art Council. In 1995 he was a visiting artist at
Christ Church College in Canterbury, England. In 2001 he attended
an artist residency at the Karl Hofer Gesellschaft in Berlin
and recently was awarded a residency in Hungary for July 2004,
followed by a YADDOW residency in the fall. Slide Lecture
