This
two-person exhibition will investigate the relationship between
the work of Mark and Claire Arctander,
father and daughter. Mark’s work employs language, context
and humor to transform basic material from life into objects
and images that address their own nature. Similarly, Claire’s
installations use common materials and images to hint at the
ephemeral nature of daily experience, memory and home. Claire
graduated from Northwestern University, Chicago, in 2005 and
was recently awarded a residency at the Cooper Union for the
Advancement of Science and Art in New York, one of the world’s
premier colleges for art and design. Mark is represented by Roy
Boyd Gallery in Chicago and exhibits nationally in a variety
of venues.
