  Throughout the year, Harper hosts visiting artists’ exhibits, student works and juried exhibitions. Jason Reblando: New Deal Utopias —
Model Cities of the Great Depression
January 14 – February 7, 2013

The photographs that Jason Reblando makes investigate topics like race, public housing, and planned communities with the depth of documentary films and the beauty of paintings. With a background in art, journalism, and sociology, Reblando creates work that tells stories and asks questions. He lives in Chicago and teaches at Columbia College. Phillip Soosloff:
Perspectives and Ideas
February 18 – March 14, 2013

Although he could be considered a ceramic artist, Phillip Soosloff’s mixed media works have evolved to include a wide range of sculptural and painting materials. Soosloff is a Ceramics Professor at Rockford College and a former Harper instructor. His work has been exhibited throughout the country for over twenty years. 36th Annual National Juried Exhibition: Small Works
March 25 – April 18, 2013

This annual exhibition highlights work selected from entries by artists from across the country. The show typically features a wide array of media ranging from photography and prints to painting and sculpture. The Harper College Educational Foundation sponsors this exhibit.

Juried Student Exhibition
April 29 – May 10, 2013

This annual exhibition includes works in various media and styles by students who have taken art courses throughout the year. Each year a professional artist is invited to jury the student’s submissions and select the work for the show..
