  Harper hosts visiting artists’ exhibits, student works and juried exhibitions throughout the year in our
Art Exhibition Space (Building C, Room C200). Exhibits are free and open to the public, Monday-Friday,
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 


Matt Irie: House Paintings
January 19 –February 11

Ranging from performance to installation to painting and drawing, Irie’s highly conceptual work explores the viewer’s perception and interaction with art. This exhibition will focus on his most recent experiments with paint. A former Harper faculty member, Matt currently teaches at McHenry County College.

Jason Hackenwerth:
The Tide of Poseidon

February 23–March 18

Hackenwerth draws from plant and animal forms to create his large, ephemeral sculptures. Built entirely of balloons, his pieces come to life and then slowly expire, all within the time and space of the exhibition. He is a New York-based artist who has exhibited throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

33rd Annual National Juried
Exhibition: SmallWorks
March 29–April 22

The College’s annual national juried exhibition highlights work selected from entries by artists from across the country. The show typically features a wide array of media ranging from photography, prints, and painting to metal, clay, glass, and fiber. The Harper College Educational Foundation sponsors this exhibit.

 

 

Juried Student Exhibition
May 3–May 14

This annual exhibition will include works in various media and styles by students who have taken art courses throughout the year. The works in the exhibit are chosen by an artist or arts professional who is invited to be the show juror.
