| The purpose of this site is
(1) to bring together scholarship and technology to enhance students'
experiences with medieval literature; (2) to promote critical
technological literacy in the humanities; and (3) to advance the
humanities through technology. The project is sponsored by the Community
College Humanities Association (CCHA) and the National Endowment for the
Humanities (NEH). Development of the site began in 2000 and is ongoing.
This is the first iteration of the Grendel web site. In the coming weeks and months we will add sections to the web site that will
contain text selections and annotations of Beowulf; digital and still images of pertinent archeological sites; historical, religious, and literary scholarship related to the Middle
Ages and Beowulf; links related to the study of the Middle
Ages; and student activities. When the site is finished, it will be
used as part of the unit on the Middle Ages in Humanities 101 at
Harper College.
For this version of the site, you may view the
abstract for the project and brief
description of the pages that link from the buttons at the bottom of
this page. |
