Auditions, Interview and Placement
High school students planning on attending Harper College should begin the admissions process during their senior year in high school. Adult students may apply for admission at any time.
Audition Procedures
All applicants to the Department of Music are required to perform an admission audition in applied music. Applicants must demonstrate minimum performence standards to be admitted for study at the music major level. If a live audition cannot be arranged a recorded audition is acceptable but the student must reaudition at the time the student enters the Department of Music. An entrance interview and placement examinations in music theory and piano are given to all applicants. All auditions are by appointment. To obtain an audition appointment please complete the Department of Music application. The exact date, time and place of the audition, interview and placement examination appointments will be sent to the applicant.
