TIMOTHY FILLIMAN
Voice
Tim is a voice teacher as well as a singer. His interest in vocal pedagogy was piqued when he studied with legendary voice teacher Dr. Berton Coffin at Southern Methodist University. His Masters degree is from Northwestern University. Mr. Filliman has also taught at Elgin Community College and maintains a flourishing private studio. His students have gone on or are continuing to be professional singers, music teachers, directors of major university singing ensembles and voice teachers. Mr. Filliman is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), and is listed as a Voice Teacher and Singer in Opera America. Highlights of Mr. Filliman's professional vocal career include twelve years at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Solo engagements include the Dallas Public Opera, the Metropolitan Chamber Ensemble of Chicago, Peoria Civic Opera, Chamber Opera Chicago, Northwest Chicago Symphony and at Southern Methodist University as featured soloist for noted composer Lloyd Pfautsch. Mr. Filliman has been heard on WFMT radio broadcasts as Bass soloist in Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass directed by Sir David Wilcocks.
