Karen Stoessel
Department of Music Secretary
Born and raised in Chicago, Karen has always loved music from the German oomp-pah bands she heard while growing up to the music of the Beatles which still streams out of her CD player. I was never blessed with the gift of talent to either sing or play an instrument but I feel so lucky to have found my way to Harper College and the Department of Music. I am surrounded by talented faculty and students who share their love of music and as I sit in my office, I hear all of these wonderful sounds filtering through the hallway. Karen has been with the Music Department for almost 4 years and says that this will be the last job she has. Unless Paul McCartney shows up and takes me away I'll be in the Music Department Office doing what I love; helping students and faculty and listening to all those beautiful sounds.
