EbscoHost - Twenty-two databases from which to choose, search
several at one time. Highlights include: Academic
Search Complete, a general resource with many full-text
articles; PsycInfo, citations and abstracts
for over one million articles in the field of psychology; ERIC, the premier educational resource information

Source: Nursing/Academic Edition, provides nearly
600 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical
disciplines and Professional Development Collection is the most comprehensive collection of full text education
journals in the world.
FirstSearch - Fifteen databases, mostly periodicals, but WorldCat is the world's largest book catalog, allowing patrons
to search the catalogs of libraries world-wide. Other
highlights include: Article 1st and Periodical
Abstracts (PerAbs), full-text of many articles
from magazines and scholarly journals, wide variety
of subject matter.

Researcher - The CQ Researcher explores
a single "hot" issue in the news in depth
each week. Topics range from social and teen issues
to environment, health, education and science and technology.
World
News Digest: Issues & Controversies - The comprehensive online source of up-to-date, in-depth
and objective information on the most prominent and

Encyclopædia
Britannica - Encyclopædia Britannica Online
includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as Merriam-Webster's
Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus, Britannica Student
Encyclopedia and the Britannica Book of the Year. You
can also use Encyclopædia Britannica Online to
search an Internet directory that includes more than
300,000 links to Web sites selected, rated, and reviewed

Technology
and Young Children

The Website pulls together articles detailing best educational practices
and current research regarding how to most effectively use technology
for the benefit of children aged birth through eight years. There is also
a technology information exchange and articles about how to fund technology.
An "Internet Tips" section discusses Internet tutorials, Internet
search engines and Website development. The site provides links to a collection
of Web resources recommended by the National Association for the Education
of Young Children. Also provided is the opportunity to join a discussion
group (LISTSERV) devoted to topics relating to children and technology.
A terrific resource for parents and educators for exploring the positive
and negative impact of technology in children's lives and for learning
the "do's" and "don't's" of using technology with
children.
