Mr. Collis was born in London, and grew up
in London and Australia. He has B.A. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics,
and a PgD (distinction) in Applied Statistics from Sheffield University
in England.
From 1989 to 1998, Mr. Collis also worked in the College's Tutoring
Centering tutoring statistics, mathematics and economics. In addition,
he worked at Northeastern Illinois University for three years. He was
also employed by H&R Block as a tax preparation specialist.
Listed among his many accomplishments, Mr. Collis received in 1994 both
the Wall Street Journal Achievement Award for Economics and the
Academic Excellence Award for Mathematics Development from the Division
of Academic Development at Northeastern Illinois University. He was
listed in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers in both 2000 and 2002.
