Minhua Liu received her B.S. degree in mathematics from Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai, China. She then earned a M.A. degree in mathematics and M.S. degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.

Ms. Liu began her full-time teaching career as an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Maine at Fort Kent in 1993. In 1994 she accepted an assistant professor position in mathematics and computer science at Harper College.

Professionally, Ms. Liu is a member of ACM and IMACC.
