Regions of the Realm

The authors of our textbook divide the Australia/New Zealand realm into 2 regions:

1. Australia, and
2. New Zealand

Australia is further diovided into two sub-regions:

1. the Australian Core Area,
2. the Australian Outback, and

The core area and outback of Australia can be clearly seen on maps of its population density [aupopden] and infrastructure[autran]. The core of course is the more heavily populated east coast with a smaller secondary core around the city of Perth in Australia's southwest corner. The outback is the sparsely poulated, dry [auprec] interior.
