Middle America:
Regions of the Realm

Our author divides Middle America into three regions [mmreg]: Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The Caribbean region can be further divided into two sub regions - the four large islands of Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico collectively called the Greater Antilles. And the remaining smaller islands which comprise the Lesser Antilles.

Middle America, therefore includes all the land between the United States and South America including the Caribbean islands. CENTRAL AMERICA is only the part of mainland Middle America between Mexico and the South American border.

The region of Mexico dominates the realm with 70% of the land [mmarebar], over 50% of the realm's population [mmpopbar], and two thirds of the realm's total economic activity.
