Also sums up the government structure, economic data, and transportation and communication infrastructure.

    This great-looking website is devoted to Korea and will aid in an understanding of this economic tiger. The site has subcategories for buiness and economy, politics, a news site, cultural and arts information, as well as basic geography of the region. Also has a discussion on the ramifications of unification with North Korea. The History subcategory has articles on the period of Japanese colonization earlier in this century that are quite interesting.

    Arab-net is maintained by the Saudi Research and Marketing Group. It contains information about most of the countries in the realm with the exception of the Empire States and Turkestan. Interestingly, the site focues on the cultural side of arab life, not the religious side. Find information on arab food, Prince Naseem Hamed (a boxer!), and everything you wanted to know about camels! On the more serious side, each country's flag is a clickable link to a wealth of geographic information -- physical geography, topology, climate,demographics, economy and more.

    Information galore! This site is maintained by the Australian National University. Another jumping off point, it has interesting links to Virtual Library collections on aborigines, Australia, cartography, New Zealand, and Pacific studies, as well as links to other realms. There are also links to population servers, the United Nations information services, international census links -- a wealth of information here.

    A very serious site -- the mission of the site is to report on international security, military affairs, and nuclear issues. Its Bulletin has an article from Stefan Pavlo, the editor of the Bulgarian Economic Review, examining Russia's possessive interest in Bulgaria. Russia seems to suggest that it would not take kindly to Bulgaria entering the NATO alliance. The article explores the post-devolutionary relationship between Russia and Bulgaria, and Bulgaria and NATO, and seeks to explain Russia's behavior as a play, against NATO-member Turkey, for control over the Central Asian oil trade. The site also maintains the famous Doomsday Clock, projecting how close the world is to a nuclear conflict, and the clock is now at 9 minutes to midnight.

Click on a country and you can explore the local info like Government, News, Weather, Travel, Events. Each country you visit gives you a page of general info like Population, Currency, Capital City, Etc. Click on the links for some local online shopping, to get some info on restaurants. I thought this sight was great.

    Find out some interesting things about Costa Rica, I started by checking out the map area but was more interested in some of the other facts like did you know that there are many unique things about Costa Rica it has 850 species of birds, 34,000 species of insects, it has deciduous forests. Coral reefs, cloud forests 1,200 varieties of orchids, rain forests, tropical dry forests and the list goes on and on.

    This site is more of a travel site, however I did find some interesting reading which explained about French Polyenisia and the five archipelagos and the 100+ islands in the area. It identified which islands are considered the high islands and which are the atolls, or low islands. I would love to go and see it for myself the pictures look absolutely beautiful!!!!!

It is a must see site.
