Noun Phrase--No Verb

Beware of appositive phrases, noun phrases that describe a word at the end of the preceding sentence. It's a fragment without a verb. Try connecting these with a comma.

One of the most brilliant writers working today is Mark Costello. A professor at the University of Illinois, and author of The Murphy Stories and Middle Murphy.
