Participial Phrases

Because they lack subjects and complete verbs, some participial phrases--those with a gerund but no "helping" verb--cannot be punctuated as complete sentences. Again, try connecting them to the preceding sentence.

At the age of nine I may have been the greatest living threat to national security. Reading secret documents on the Norden bomb sight and keeping detailed notes.
