Subordinating conjunctions link dependent and independent clauses.

The deal is that, even though a dependent clause has a subject and a verb, it cannot stand alone as a complete sentence. It's a drag, but easy to fix. Here you might try some connecting with rearranging--it's a little more flashy, but at least you can dance to it.
The world turns me on. Because it is round.
Correction: "Because
the world is round, it turns me on."
