Marketing boot camp revamped

The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Harper College has revamped its Small Business Marketing Boot Camp, a series of classes that teach key marketing fundamentals with practical applications.
The boot camp, which will feature more activities and hands-on exercises, will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 16 to Sept. 30 at the Harper Professional Center, Suite 18N, 650 E. Higgins Road in Schaumburg.
The first class is "Creating Your Marketing Vision," which will guide students on how to define and expand their target market through hands-on exercises. The next, "Define Your Marketing Strategy," will teach students about the importance of 30- and 90-second elevator pitches as well as effective ways to reach targeted customers including email marketing, testimonials and power partners. In the last class, "Turn Leads into Customers," students will draft a lead generation and marketing plan to help monitor effectiveness and efficiency.
