Sonography programs seeking volunteers for ultrasounds

The Harper College Diagnostic Medical and Cardiac Sonography programs are seeking volunteers interested in receiving free ultrasounds.

The free exams include echocardiograms of the heart (participants must be at least 18 years old), and obstetrical ultrasounds (participants must be at least 18 weeks pregnant).

Exams will be performed by students on state-of-the-art equipment, under the supervision of a registered Diagnostic Medical and Cardiac Sonographer. The free tests, lasting about an hour each, are non-diagnostic.

Volunteers will not receive a medical report, but may be instructed to follow up with their physician. The OB ultrasounds may include 2D/3D images of which volunteers can receive a copy

Harper’s programs conform to all patient safety regulations. Appointments are required and will be available on select days from Jan. 26 through early April.

For an appointment, call the Harper College Diagnostics Imaging Lab at 847.925.6104.
