Harper Police to participate in National Night Out with Hoffman Estates Police

Harper College Police Chief John Lawson interacts with community membersThe Harper College Police Department is proud to announce its participation in the 42nd Annual National Night Out, 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, in collaboration with the Hoffman Estates Police Department.

This free, family-friendly event will be held at the Hoffman Estates Police Department, 411 W. Higgins Road, and promises an evening of fun, food and community connection.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that brings together law enforcement and neighbors across more than 16,000 communities nationwide. More than 38 million people participate each year to strengthen police-community partnerships and foster neighborhood spirit with the goal of creating safer, more caring places to live.

Event highlights include:

  • Free food and drinks
  • Live music
  • Police station tours
  • Touch-a-truck experience
  • Information on the Public Safety Cadet Program
  • Emergency management program demonstrations

“The Harper College Police Department is proud to continue its outreach by cosponsoring National Night Out events with different communities each year,” said Harper College Police Chief John Lawson. “It is important to collaborate with our municipal partners within Harper’s district to build stronger, safer communities."
