Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs or "drones") are now widely used by the Department of Defense and industry in a rapidly growing variety of applications. Most important for you, however, may be the earning potential of a drone/UAV services business and getting the training you need to become a commercial drone pilot.

Courses

MAKE MONEY FLYING DRONES (LCE 0114): You can make money flying a drone! Whether you are new to the drone industry or somewhat familiar with it, this course will help you explore the opportunities that await you. Currently, drones are used for real estate photography, surveillance, construction surveying, fire monitoring, wildlife tracking, news and sports journalism, and much more. Whether you are retired, in a mid-life career, or just getting started, learn about how to make money in the rapidly growing unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry. 

PILOTING A DRONE: FUNDAMENTALS (LCE 0115): This blended (online and in-person) course creates a foundation of understanding about flying drones as a commercial pilot. A Saturday flight experience is held on the last day of class; drones are provided. During the first two weeks of class, attendees independently study instructor-led classroom videos and may contact the instructor with questions via email. If needed, rain dates will be scheduled. This course is a prerequisite to Piloting a Drone: Advanced Concepts, LCE0116. Registration closes three days prior to the flight experience, giving attendees time to complete the video coursework. Flight class meets in-person on the last day of class.

PILOTING A DRONE: ADVANCED CONCEPTS (LCE 0116): Continue your understanding and flying experience with commercial drones in this blended course. The Saturday flight experience meets on the last day of class; drones are provided. During the first two weeks of class prior to the flight experience, attendees independently study instructor-led classroom videos and may contact the instructor with questions via email. If needed, rain dates will be scheduled. Prerequisite: LCE0115, Piloting a Drone: Fundamentals. Registration closes three days prior to flight experience, giving attendees time to complete the video coursework. Flight class meets in-person on the last day of class.

PART 107 KNOWLEDGE TEST PREP (LCE 0117): Prepare to become FAA-certified as a commercial drone pilot in this 20-hour blended (online and in-person) course. Attendees study instructor-led classroom videos independently and may contact the instructor with questions via email. On the last day of class, you will meet with the instructor to review and get questions answered. Registration closes two weeks prior to the last day of class, giving attendees time to complete the video coursework. Class meets in person on the last day of class.
