TOGETHER: COLORING WITH MOM & DAD (LEI 0024): Here is a great activity for the whole family. Moms, dads, and grandparents will enjoy a rewarding time learning the simple art of creating art with children. This class offers tips and tricks for coloring in a fun, playful way. Bring colored pencils, a regular #2 pencil, eraser, and sketchbook. For children ages 8+ and their parents or grandparents. Adults and children register separately. No experience necessary. Bring a snack.

TOGETHER COLORED TAPE ART: PARENT/CHILD (LEI 0303): Make colored-tape art with your child or grandchild. There is a wide varied of colored tape with different textures, sizes and patterns. This class will teach you how to manipulate tape materials and help you find the path towards creating your own fabulous projects. The class will discuss the works of artists who used this medium to unravel the mysterious of their work and for inspiration. The two-hour class requires children to have good attention abilities, focus, and a reasonable ability to be independent. For children ages 7+ and their parents or grandparents. TOGETHER ALPHABET ART: PARENT/CHILD (LEI 0304): Make alphabet art with your child or grandchild. Recreate letters in different mediums though sketching, drawing or collage. This class will teach you how to juxtapose materials and utilize what you already know to create something new, exciting and unique. The class focuses on your projects but will discuss themes of Pop Art and show examples from famous artist such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. The two-hour class requires children to have good attention abilities, focus, and a reasonable ability to be independent. For children ages 7+ and their parents or grandparents. TOGETHER STOP MOTION: PARENT/CHILD (LEI 0306): Make a stop-motion movie with your child or grandchild. You’ll draw and cut geometric shapes with different textures over paper, fabrics or even mat boards. The objects will be placed on a stop-motion wall so they can come together in a movie. The works of various stop motion artists will be discussed for inspiration and to explore how they tackled time, space, light and the different objects. The two-hour class requires children to have good attention abilities, focus, and a reasonable ability to be independent. For children ages 10+ and their parents or grandparents. TOGETHER ART FROM SCRAP: PARENT/CHILD (LEI 0307): Make art from scrap with your child or grandchild. Experience making art with different materials that you don’t use or no longer need. Any material can be used including plastic or paper bags, magazines, newspaper, bottle lids, toys etc. Decide on a project and then explore how you can bring various materials together as one coherent piece of art. You may utilize several techniques including painting, drawing, carving, etc. The works of several artists will be discussed including Beatriz Milhazes, Vick Muniz, and Arturo Herrera. The two-hour class requires children to have good attention abilities, focus, and a reasonable ability to be independent. For children ages 7+ and their parents or grandparents.
