FICTION WRITERS WORKSHOP NOVELS AND SHORT STORY ANTHOLOGIES (LLA 0355): Are you ready to take your draft novel or short story to the next level? You will receive verbal feedback on one story or novel chapter of up to 5,000 words and begin editing to create chapter beginnings and endings that will keep readers engaged. You will learn how to develop an appropriately sized cast of characters, plots, subplots and action, and how to tackle continuity of locations, characters and names. Finally, you will discuss working with editors, beta-readers, agents and how to self-publish.

SHORT STORY WRITING WORKSHOP (LLA 0234): Explore your own self-expression through the art of writing short stories. We will read short works for inspiration, discuss the art of writing and create our own writings. Supportive group critique will be part of our process as you help critique the works of your peers in this writers group. Bring your favorite notebook and writing instrument!

Please note, not all courses are offered every semester.
