BUILDINGS THAT CHANGED ARCHITECTURE IN AMERICA (LLI 1213): This lecture focuses on 10 amazing buildings that changed architecture in America. We explain how and why they have attained this status and explore the varied careers of the architects who designed them. This list is based on a recent publication by Geoffrey Bear who believes these buildings ushered in cultural shifts throughout American society.

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT: GREATEST ARCHITECT OF THE 20TH CENTURY? (LLI 6056): Was Frank Lloyd Wright the greatest American architect of the 20th Century? You will examine the life and career of the man that many believe was the greatest American architect of the 20th century. His highly original aesthetic and singular philosophy placed Wright in the forefront of 20th century architecture. Wright studied under Louis Sullivan, one of the first builders of skyscrapers. The young Wright’s first independent constructions were his so-called “Prairie Houses,” built in and around Chicago. Despite personal tragedies and changing tastes in 20th century architecture, Wright continued to receive important commissions throughout his long career.

SUPER STRUCTURES: AN ARCHITECTURAL TOUR OF THE WORLD (LLI 0031): The Future Is Now. Buckle your seat belt and get ready for a surprising architectural tour of the world. International traveler Jasmine Blaze, as played by Martina Mathisen Educational Entertainer, will take you around the globe to discover the fantastic, super structures that have stunned the world and will leave you in awe.

THE FUTURE IS NOW (LLI 0029): The Future Is Now, An Architectural Tour of the World Buckle your seat belt and get ready for a surprising tour, right from your seat at Friendship Village. The international traveler, Jasmine Blaze (as played by Martina Mathisen Educational Entertainer), takes us around the globe to discover the fantastic super structures that have stunned the world and will leave you in awe.
