Web Design and Interactive Media Certificate

Certificate credit can be applied to the Web Design and Interactive Media Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.

What You'll Learn

  • Overview of the Internet, basic computer programming, hardware, databases, networking, security concerns, and version control tools.
  • Basic website development from drawing an initial sketch to hand-coding a responsive, multi-page website with HTML and CSS, and uploading a website to a web host provider.
  • Conduct user research and user experience design.
  • Create still and animated images for using on websites and other digital platforms.
  • Advance CSS skills to produce websites with complex and creative designs.
  • Learn the fundamentals of JavaScript programming.
  • Learn and compare the latest JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular and Vue) for developing complex, modern websites.
  • Ensure websites adhere to Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines.
  • Create and maintain a WordPress business website. Design an accompanying mobile app prototype using Adobe XD.
