Lindy is a proud member of the Harper College Class of 2022, having finished her associate
degree in accounting. She has now started her first professional job as an accounting
clerk.
The path was not always easy. Lindy worked full-time at a coffee shop to provide for
herself and her two young daughters. Lindy knew that a better life for her whole family
meant finding a way to balance work, family and school. She paid for her first semester
at Harper on a credit card. She sought out campus resources for support and advising.
She worked hard in her classes and her job.
As she was nearing the end of her program, she was awarded the Hohol Family Endowed
Scholarship. As Lindy says, "Thanks to their financial support I was able to believe that there are still kind
people in the world that care about others and want them to succeed." The support she received from this scholarship relieved some of her family's financial
burden and empowered her to finish her journey to her associate degree.
Today, Lindy is beginning her bachelor's degree in accounting through Harper's University
Center with her sights set on becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
