With courses cover the theoretical and practical aspects of aviation maintenance, Harper College's Aviation Maintenance Technology program offers curriculum designed to meet the rigorous standards set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Students are fully prepared to sit for their FAA mechanic certification with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.

Harper College's Aviation Maintenance Technology program was built with input from industry partners in the airline, defense and aircraft maintenance industries, including United, American, and Southwest Airlines, Northrup Grummond, and AAR Corporation. These partnerships ensure that the program is aligned with the needs of the industry, providing students with relevant and up-to-date training.

The program is funded in part by a $500,000 grant from the FAA to meet the growing demand for aircraft mechanics and service technician in our area. Some classes will take place at the Schaumburg Airport in a hangar dedicated to Harper's Aviation Maintenance Technology program.
