Three current community college presidents have been named finalists in Harper College’s search for its sixth president.
The College’s Presidential Search Advisory Committee recently selected the highly qualified candidates following an extensive nationwide search. The finalists are:
The community will have an opportunity to meet the candidates, hear about their experiences and ask questions during a series of open forums January 21-28. The finalists also will interview with Harper leadership and key stakeholder groups.
“The finalists are experienced, visionary and collaborative leaders with demonstrated commitment to student success,” said Pat Stack, Chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee and Vice Chair of the Harper College Board of Trustees. “We look forward to their upcoming visits and welcome the involvement and feedback of the entire community.”
The 19-member Presidential Search Advisory Committee charged with leading the search represents the diverse Harper community and consists of trustees, faculty, staff, students and community members. The committee worked with executive search firm RH Perry and Associates to help create a presidential profile of the ideal candidate and guide the recruitment and interview process.
The sixth president will succeed Dr. Kenneth L. Ender, who will complete his decade-long tenure on June 30. The Harper College Board of Trustees will approve the selection of the new president at its Committee of the Whole meeting on February 13. A July start date is anticipated.
Open forum schedule:
Open forums are open to the public and campus community. They will take place in the Wojcik Conference Center Amphitheater on the college’s main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.
