Harper College will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Harper College will host its 2026 Diversity Symposium from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, November 6, at the Wojcik Conference Center on Harper’s
Palatine campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road. The free event is open to community members,
Harper employees and invited students.
This year’s symposium will feature a keynote address, “Models Change. Values Endure,” by Dr. Damon A. Williams, a leading voice on organizational change management, strategic leadership, inclusion, generational diversity, pluralism and polyculturalism. Williams is returning to Harper after speaking at one of the college’s previous Diversity Symposiums, a tradition that began in 2004. He will share his insights on how approaches to diversity, equity and inclusion may evolve while the core values behind them remain constant.
Following the keynote, participants will have opportunities to engage in Burning Questions discussion sessions, encouraging conversation and reflection on the symposium’s themes. Lunch will be provided.
