At the end of May, the Harper College Educational Foundation and Alumni Relations hosted the Harper College Football Alumni Reunion, bringing together nearly 70 former players, coaches, and supporters for an evening of connection, reflection, and celebration. The gathering honored the rich history of Harper football, a program that for decades shaped not only competitive teams, but also lifelong relationships and a strong sense of pride and belonging among its alumni. Stories shared throughout the event reflected the program’s impact on student-athletes both on and off the field, reinforcing the enduring legacy of Harper Hawks football.

A highlight of the reunion was the opportunity to take a true “trip down memory lane,” with memorabilia from the Harper College archives on display, sparking stories and shared memories among alumni. From vintage photos to program artifacts, the collection offered a tangible connection to the program’s legacy while reinforcing the deep pride so many still feel for their time as Hawks.
Building on that experience, alumni were also introduced to Harper’s growing virtual archives, including the ongoing effort to digitize historic football games. Supported by the Foundation through a Resource for Excellence grant and a generous private contribution from Coach John Eliasik, this initiative ensures that the spirit of Harper football will be preserved and accessible for generations to come.
