Distinguished Alumni Nomination Information

Accepting nominations in two categories:
2026 Distinguished Alumni Award

CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION

  • The candidate attended Harper College and completed a minimum of 12 credit hours.
  • The candidate has achieved success of an exceptional nature within their chosen field or profession.
  • Through public service, philanthropy, and/or active volunteering, the candidate has made a positive impact in his/her community.
  • The candidate’s story and experiences reflect Harper College’s mission and diverse community.
  • The candidate agrees to accept the award in person at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Event to be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
  • The candidate is willing to return to campus at least once within the year (in addition to accepting the award) to be a guest speaker and/or participate in a student engagement activity.

NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Nomination form must be completed and submitted by 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Monday, May 4, 2026 and must be accompanied by a current resume or bio.
  • Nominees can self-nominate or be nominated by someone else.
  • If self-nominating, at least two current letters of recommendation must be submitted.
  • Nominators may submit up to three additional items for supplementary materials. These may support the nomination and highlight the applicant’s accomplishments and contributions (i.e., news articles, brochures, awards/honors, photos).

2026 Distinguished Recent Alumni Award

CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION

  • The candidate attended Harper College and completed a minimum of 24 credit hours within the last 10 years OR graduated from Harper College within the last 10 years, and
  • The candidate has demonstrated notable early success in their education, career, and chosen field within ten years of completing their studies at Harper College, and
  • The candidate has proven to be an emerging leader in public service, philanthropy, and/or active volunteering, the candidate has made a positive impact in his/her community, and
  • The candidate’s story and experiences reflect Harper College’s mission and diverse community.
  • The candidate agrees to be present to accept the award in person at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Reception to be held on the Harper campus on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
  • The candidate is willing to return to campus at least once within the year (in addition to accepting the award) to be a guest speaker and/or participate in a student engagement activity.
