Harper sets tuition rates for 2026-27 academic year

The Harper College Board of Trustees in February approved a $4.25 per credit hour tuition increase to support the college’s commitment to providing quality, affordable and accessible education.

Effective with the fall 2026 semester, in-district tuition for the 2026-27 academic year will increase 3% to $145.75 per credit hour. Tuition for out-of-district, out-of-state and international students will increase by $8.50 per credit hour.

Combined tuition and fees will total $167.75 per credit hour, representing an additional $38.25 per semester for the average in-district student.

In addition, the per-semester Activity Fee will increase for the first time since 2006. For full-time students, the fee will increase by $8 to $50 per semester; for part-time students, it will increase by $4 to $25 per semester.

The proposal was supported by the college’s Student Government Association. Members told administrators they recognize Harper’s adjustment is moderate compared with many peer institutions and said predictable, incremental changes are more manageable than larger increases.
