Harper’s Bizarre Fashion Studies Student Club
Expand your knowledge and love of fashion, design, merchandising, styling and textiles
with like-minded friends.
Club activities in the past have included fashion-related speakers, workshops, field
trips, knitting/sewing/crafting circle, styling, helping with Prom Dress Sale, fundraising
and assisting the Fashion Studies Department.
Membership of Harper’s Bizarre Fashion Club is open to any student currently enrolled
in credit classes at Harper College. You do not need to be enrolled in any Fashion-specific
classes to be part of the club.
Meeting Schedule:
Day: Every other Thursday
Time: 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Summary of Club Activities for 2024-2025 Academic Year:
- hosted table at Hullaballoo
- voted for and installed our executive members
- Presentation of designer garments by Paula Byrd (Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne
Westwood, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen, Dries Van Norten, John Galliano)
- Made dog bandanas to sell in Studio V for fundraising and hosted a table in L to publicize
- Decorated T-shirts
- Field trip to Chicago History Museum to see “Dressed in History: A Costume Collection
Retrospective” exhibit
- Hosted a table at Club Expo
- Clothing swap event – helped people refresh their wardrobes and kept clothing out
of landfills. (124 garments collected, 40 swapped, 74 donated to charity).
- Knit fabric sale – raised $201 and helped clear out the Fashion Studies resource room.
- Prom Dress photo shoot and reel posted on Harper College main social media
- Prom Dress sale, 3 dates & many hours of work! Sold 51 dresses and raised $2,550
- Fashion sketching session
- Mood board workshop
- Pizza Party with wind up video
