Join the Boruta family in tribute to Mary Boruta’s legacy through a scholarship that will enable and empower students to pursue their academic and professional dreams just as Mary enabled and inspired her sons and those around her.
The Mary Boruta Scholarship is dedicated to enabling Harper College students who are pursuing their educational goals while also working to support themselves and/or their families. Mary Boruta lived within the Harper College district for over 40 years and raised three sons that all attended Harper College who then moved on to Illinois State University where they each earned Bachelor’s Degrees. Mary was known to all for her love of gardening, music and family. She passed these passions on to each of her children and grandchildren.
Mary had a profound belief that Harper College offered a gateway to a thriving career and in honor of that belief her family established the Mary Boruta Endowed Scholarship to support students pursuing an education in either the Kinesiology or Management field. Their hope is to enable students who wish to improve the lives and health of themselves and others through their careers in Kinesiology or Business.
