Success Stories
WIOA has helped adult students like Asfa Alamelhuda and Joanna Kmiec re-enter the
workforce and achieve their career goals.
After raising her three children, Asfa completed her Administrative Assistant Certificate
with the support of Harper’s Learning and Career Center. She has since received multiple
promotions and now works full-time in retail management.
Joanna, who lost her longtime accounting job, turned to Harper for help. With encouragement
from staff and support through WIOA funding, she began an Accounting Assistant Certificate
and soon landed a new accounting position.
Their stories show how Harper’s programs, in partnership with the American Job Center
in Wheeling, provide life-changing opportunities for adult learners. Read the full
article of Asfa's and Joanna's stories here.
