Working with images mined from lush print media, Angela Piehl creates intricate collages,
abstract paintings, and drawings. Her densely layered compositions pose questions
to the viewer about nature, beauty, society, consumerism, and gender norms. Piehl
has exhibited her work and lectured nationally and internationally. She is based in
Milwaukee where she is Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
