Learning and Career Center in Prospect Heights

NOTICE: Due to increasing COVID-19 cases, our building is closed and will open again on January 31st. All LCC services will be virtual or by phone until then.

Career certificate programs, foundational English classes (ELA), and High School Equivalency (HSE) courses will begin online the week of January 18th. The first two weeks of classes will be virtual and students will return to the Prospect Heights campus for class the week of January 31st.

Jump start your career with these short programs that give you hands-on experience. Classes are offered during the day and evening. Scholarships and other financial aid options are available. Students have free use of computers, library, WiFi and more.

All classes are held at the Learning and Career Center in Prospect Heights. Easily accessible from Prospect Heights, Wheeling and surrounding areas.

At LCC Fall Semester:

Advance in the lodging industry and participate in front desk activities, sales and supervision.

Learn basic care skills for patient well-being in health care facilities.

  • Course includes mandatory 40-hour supervised clinical experience

Learn skills and techniques involved in the collection of blood from patients or donors for diagnostic testing.

  • $17.73 local hourly average*
  • Certificate requires a 3 week, full-time clinical internship

Learn everything you need to prepare for Illinois CDL A Licensure in either the 160 hour or 240 hour Commercial Truck Driving course.

  • The 160 hour course includes all of the minimum Illinois CDL A licensure requirements.
  • The 240 hour course includes minimum licensure requirements and additional instruction, yard, and road skill training.

Due to rising COVID-19 cases, our building is currently closed. However, our staff is available by phone and email during the Winter Break hours listed here. Starting on January 18th, phone services will be available during our regular hours (8am to 10pm, Monday-Thursday). The LCC building is currently due to reopen on January 24th.
