About Gary Percy:

Upon graduating from high school, Gary Percy enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He spent 7 years, both active duty and active reserve, in the Navy, working in the engine build-up shop at the Naval Air Facility, Andrews AFB, Washington, DC.

He then attended the University of the District of Columbia in the Aircraft Maintenance Technology program, where he received his FAA Airframe and Powerplant certifications. In 1984, Gary was hired by American Airlines in Chicago as an A&P mechanic. In 2012, he opted for an early retirement as a Crew Chief from AA. His proudest achievement at AA was receiving the Operational Excellence certification.

In February 2023, Gary was hired as an Adjunct faculty member at Olive-Harvey College in Chicago, where he taught the A&P General classes to high school Dual Credit and Continuing Education students. In July 2024, he was hired as the Aviation Program Coordinator/Instructor at Harper College, overseeing the setup of the Aviation Program.

About Tyrell Brown:

Tyrell Brown serves as an adjunct professor of Aviation Management, Aviation History, and Airport Management, drawing upon advanced academic training and substantive industry experience. He holds a Master's Degree in Aviation Management with a concentration in aviation finance, safety management, and modern aviation operations.

His professional background includes service in private and business aviation, complemented by his ongoing career in commercial aviation. He is committed to advancing the development of future aviation professionals through rigorous instruction, historical perspective, and applied industry practice.

About Julius Smith:

Julius Smith's aviation career began in the United States Air Force, where he served as a B-52H crew chief stationed at Minot Air Force Base. Following military service, he joined American Airlines to help manage aircraft line maintenance, conduct safety oversight, and develop regulatory training. Currently, he works with United Airlines, supporting technical operations in a strategic planning role.

Julius holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification and a degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He enjoys working with future aviation professionals, supporting their growth and helping them prepare for successful and rewarding careers in the industry.
