Careers in Mass Communication

A career in mass communication offers a chance to work in a fast-paced, creative environment.

As a broadcast announcer, disk jockey, broadcast technician, reporter, or journalist, you will use your strong verbal communication skills and attention to detail to produce radio broadcasts, television broadcasts, online broadcasts, news reports, and live event broadcasts.

You will also be responsible for monitoring ongoing broadcasts, maintaining broadcast equipment, reading news reports, recording segments for later broadcast, designing and executing programming, and providing commentary on the broadcast.

In order to succeed in this field, it is essential to be able to work well under pressure and to have a strong understanding of the latest technology and equipment.
