In January, Harper College partnered with the Schaumburg Business Association (SBA) to host a Harper at Work reception celebrating SBA members and the many Harper College alumni within the Association. Nearly 100 guests attended the event which highlighted the strong connections between Harper, local employers, and alumni who are making an impact across the community.

The reception was held at Chicago Prime Italian Restaurant in Schaumburg, an SBA member business that is proudly alumni-owned—a terrific location to highlight the meaningful relationships that grow when education and industry come together. Harper College President Dr. Avis Proctor shared remarks that underscored the importance of these partnerships and the shared commitment to regional success.

“We truly value SBA’s leadership and the important role you play in strengthening our local economy,” said Dr. Proctor. “We are proud to celebrate SBA members, particularly the Harper alumni in attendance—and to recognize those organizations that have hired Harper College alumni. It’s a wonderful setting here at Chicago Prime to celebrate our alumni, our community, and the strong partnerships that connect us all.”

The event reinforced Harper College’s commitment to strengthening relationships throughout the community by creating spaces where alumni, business leaders, and partners can connect, collaborate, and celebrate shared success and, ultimately, lay the groundwork for continued engagement and future opportunities.
