Stephanie is a first-generation Latina college student, and her family comes from
Guatemala. She’s currently pursuing her master’s degree in social work after completing
her undergraduate studies specializing in child development. Before coming to Harper
College, Stephanie worked as a sexual assault prevention educator and domestic violence
case manager at a local community crisis center. When she’s not working or in school,
Stephanie enjoys drawing and working on her comic book series, getting her nails done,
spending time at the beach, and all things Hello Kitty.

Julissa is a Latinx first-generation college student who was born and raised in Palatine,
Illinois. She currently studies public health and has plans to obtain her master’s
degree in clinical mental health counseling as she is passionate about mental health
and helping those who are underrepresented. In addition to being a college student
and working at Harper College, Julissa also volunteers as a bilingual crisis text
line counselor. Julissa enjoys traveling, watching movies and TV shows, collecting
and wearing crystals, succulents, and Frida Kahlo.

Andrew is thrilled to return to Harper College as a professional staff member after
his student experience where he participated in student club leadership along with
being a student employee. When he's not working, Andrew enjoys spending time with
friends and family, playing video games, and watching professional wrestling.

If you are a currently enrolled Harper College student who is experiencing homelessness
or is at risk of experiencing homelessness, please contact Christina. Her previous
work experience was in mental health and substance use prevention through two different
local non-profit organizations. Outside of work, Christina enjoys spending time with
her cat, hermit crabs, and friends. She is a music lover and tries to attend as many
concerts as possible.

Gabriela is one of the first faces seen upon entering our center, and she strives
to make all students feel welcome, comfortable and supported when visiting our office.
One of her greatest passions is helping others, so it was a natural fit to return
to Harper College as a professional staff member to serve students. Outside of work,
Gabriela loves cooking, swimming, skateboarding, and going to the movies.

Before coming to Harper College, Katie’s career was in PK-12 public education where
she served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. As a student-centered
leader, she was an advocate for visual and performing arts in public education, promoted
a lifelong appreciation for learning, implemented school-wide behavior expectations,
and co-chaired the first district committee for emergency operation plans and school
safety. Katie is passionate about schools, and now our campus, being a place where
all students can learn, pursue their interests, and discover a sense of belonging
and community. In her free time, Katie enjoys crafting, being outdoors, spending
time with family, and Nose Work with her dog.
