Physical, Web and Electronic Accessibility on Campus

Americans With Disabilities Act

Reasonable accommodations and services are available for students, staff and visitors with disabilities in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Persons with disabilities who may require accommodations should contact Access and Disability Services in Building I, Room 103, or telephone at 847.925.6266 (voice callers) or 224.836.5048 (videophone for Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing callers).

Physical Access of the Campus

During the Covid-19 Pandemic, access to the campus is severely restricted.  Any student coming into campus will observe social distance, have his/her temperature checked and be asked to respond to a checklist of health questions. Only a select number of courses will meet on campus (e.g. welding, refrigeration, etc.).  The majority of courses are being offered as distance learning.  (If you need access to technology, see the link for borrowing a Chromebook from the Library.)

Consult the Accessibility Campus Map PDF for details on features such as accessible parking, exterior auto door openers and level pathways to buildings. For more specific accessibility information about classrooms, theater space and student gathering areas, contact the ADS office (see above).

Accessible Parking

Parking lots are available at various locations on campus and have reserved spaces for vehicles displaying handicap license plates or valid handicap parking placards. View Campus Map.

Rest Rooms

Accessible restrooms are clearly marked in each building. Consult the Accessibility Campus Map for locations.

Communication Access of the Campus

The College will respond to requests from students and community members who need accommodations for attendance at open events, providing sign language interpreters, captioning, use of assistive listening systems or other forms of access. Requests should be made online by filling out the Request Captioning or Interpreting Services form.
