Welcome Message from Dr. Avis Proctor

It’s wonderful to be at Harper College. My family and I have been warmed by the stellar welcome we’ve received from those on campus and in the community that we’ve been fortunate to meet and I look forward to connecting with so many more of you in the weeks ahead.

What a remarkable time to be joining Harper College as its sixth president. It was just a year ago that the College culminated celebrating its 50th anniversary. A few months later, Harper’s community-driven plan for the future received overwhelming support from district voters.

Now, as we transition from Dr. Ender’s 10 years of student-success-focused leadership, Harper is making record progress in graduation numbers, graduation rates and improved student-learning outcomes. From these strengths, I know we will continue to do great things on behalf of our students and the community.

As I begin my tenure, I look forward to engaging with our campus and our community in discussions that will help us continue to innovate and transform even more lives through the opportunities and progress intentionally created through quality education.

I’m honored to serve as Harper College’s president and I look forward to working with our faculty, staff, and partners to serve our students, our campus and our community.

Dr. Avis Proctor
President, Harper College
