Harper's Art Exhibition Space hosts several exhibits each semester, including visiting artists' exhibits, solo and group exhibits, student and faculty works, and juried exhibitions. The exhibits are intended to showcase an array of artistic mediums and styles, providing viewers with a range of experiences to broaden their awareness of the ever-increasing possibilities embodied by art.
The exhibits offer Harper students the opportunity to view and study great works of art, meet and interact with visiting artists and see how an exhibit is installed, all in close proximity to where they study, practice and perfect their own art. Faculty members utilize the space to teach students how to see, write and think critically about contemporary art. Students also gain insight into the decisions that artists and curators must confront when installing exhibits.
The Art Exhibition Space is located in Building C, Room C200, and all shows are free and open to the public, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Drama Lab Theatre is Harper's intimate, flexible black box style theatre, which allows for traditional staging, theatre in the round, or with the audience positioned on three sides of the stage. The setting is ideal for experimental and small ensemble shows, as well as theatre classes.
