Dr. Sadie Hochman-Ruiz is Assistant Professor of Music at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. A scholar-practitioner, she investigates the entanglements of gender and music technologies through both academic research and performance. Her creative practice—including performance art, experimental noise guitar, and electronic music—activates sound to explore queer vocal histories and disrupt gendered instrumentality. Her work can be found in academic journals, books, and also records released with her band masc4masc.
