Careers in Humanities

The humanities covers a wide area of study that encompasses everything that makes us human — our culture, our beliefs and practices, our pursuits, how we communicate, and our relationships to one another. Humanities courses can provide a solid foundation that can be applied to almost any career.

Humanities students study art, history, language, literature, politics, religion in pursuit of fundamental truths, and learn to apply those lessons to issues we encounter in daily life. One of the main benefits of humanities education — besides a deep cultural appreciation — is the ability to ask difficult questions of ourselfs and our society and to analyze the information around us so that we can make ourselves and the world around us a better place.

Careers often pursued by humanities students include any number of jobs in art, business, communications, education, history, information technology, sales/marketing and more.
